The Rural Economy and Connectivity Committee at the Scottish Parliament wants to hear views about whether the right funding and financial support is in place to help our industry meet the ambitious 2030 growth targets.
This responses received will help inform the Committee's scrutiny of the Scottish Government's Draft Budget for 2018-19. This is an important opportunity for the industry to tell the Scottish Parliament about the support and resources that actually makes a real difference to industry growth. It's also an opportunity to state what's currently missing or what support could help make a difference to your business.
Specifically the Committee want to know:
1. What types of budget support does the sector need to grow its capabilitiesand build markets?
2. Is what is currently offeredby the Scottish Government and Public bodies effective in terms of providing the support needed?
3. How can tax measures be used to help the Food and Drink sector deliver on food policy objectives?
4. What should be the over-riding objective(s) of support? Economic growth, Health and well-being, Improving environmental standards or other objectives?
DG Food and Drink will be submitting a response. If you have time please consider sumbitting your own response - communications directly from businesses will be very much welcomed by the Committee.
Details of how to submit a response can be found here: http://www.parliament.scot/S5_Rural/Budget_-_Call_for_views.pdf
