The 2018 markets season is now well under way and a few things worth highlighting.
Farmers' Market organisers - could you please check your listing on http://www.dgmarkets.org/ and make sure all details are correct, particularly contact details for market organisers and the dates. If you need any information on this website updated, please let me know the changes as soon as possible.
Food Festival Organisers - could you forward me through your dates for 2018 as soon as they are confirmed, and a summary of your festival. Can you also advise whether you will be offering producer trading opportunities at your festival?
Producers / Traders - if you are interested in trading at any farmers' market in the region, please contact the market organiser directly. Details can be found at http://www.dgmarkets.org/ on the bottom right of each market listing. Alternatively, many of the farmers' markets have active facebook pages and can be contacted by messaging the page. Please note that some farmers' markets in the region are fully subscribed and operate waiting lists. Please also be aware that generally farmers' markets are run by the producers who trade at the market and there is a degree of curation in the products offered. This isn't done to exclude new traders, instead the purpose is to offer a broad mix of products to customers within the limits of the number of stands available at each market. Opportunities do arise and stalls can become available at the last minute.
Dumfries Makers Market is hoping to launch later this year. If you are interested in trading opportunities at this market, register your details here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfh1ouO2JF2R4DnYYROomwH2l2Dl9fE...
And finally - a good luck to Dumfries Farmers' Market who are relocating to Dumfries Railway Station from Easter Sunday!
