WorldHost Principles of Customer Service Excellence is an industry recognised training programme aimed at those in customer facing industries, partiuclarly in the hospitality, retail and tourism sectors. Accreditation lasts for 2 years and the course is delivered over one day workshop.
Dumfries & Galloway Council in partnership with People 1st and Dumfries & Galloway College are supporting the roll out of this training programme in Dumfries & Galloway, starting with a series of workshops in Moffat.
The cost per attendee is subsidised by Dumfries & Galloway Council and will be £10 per employee for businesses with ten or less full time equivalent employees and £25 per attendee for businesses with up to 150 employees.
The course covers:
- The role of all staff in delivering outstanding customer care
- Giving positive first impressions
- Communication and listening skills to create excellent rapport with customers
- Generating revenue for your business through customer service excellence
- ‘Going the extra mile’
For a business to achieve ‘WorldHost’ status, 50% of employees should undertake the training, if 25% of businesses in Moffat achieve this, the town can be awarded WorldHost Destination status.
